WRITER / DIRECTOR - DHARAN MANDRAYAR

Dharan Mandrayar literally "grew up" in the film industry.

As a member of the Sivaji Productions crew during the 80's,

Mr. Mandrayar  worked on dozens of films in his native India

and throughout Europe.

He wrote and directed his first feature film, Ele, My Friend, in 1993.

Mr. Mandrayar has written an original screenplay for White Rainbow

and is directing the film.

 

 

EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS - LINDA MANDRAYAR & HANNAH KIRBY

Linda Mandrayar is a graduate of Pepperdine University and holds a degree in Communications, specializing in Public Relations and Advertising.  After marrying Dharan Mandrayar, together they formed Dharlin Entertainment in 1989.  Since then, Linda has executive produced and designed costumes for the award-winning Ele, My Friend.  During production she also acted as liaison between the American and Indian film crews.  Linda is also currently producing the documentary series,

Hannah Kirby holds a BA in Business Administration from Hiram College in Ohio and a MS in Technology Management from National University.  She joins the Dharlin Entertainment team following a 20-year career in the telecommunications and software development industry, during which she consulted on business development and marketing operations for three software startups.  While this is Hannah’s first endeavor in the film production industry, her expertise in business development and marketing make her a valuable resource.

 

 

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY - B. KANNAN

Kannan, son of a very successful film director of yester-years A. Bhimsingh,

is a graduate of the prestigious Institute of Film Technology, Chennai.

He has won a number of regional as well as national awards for

his cinematography. He has worked on more than 45 feature films as

cinematographer and has been associated with the industry

for over 22 years.

LINE PRODUCER - GIRI SHANMUGAM "GURU"

Giri has been producer for Sivaji Productions since 1991. In that capacity he has worked on half a dozen feature films and a number of television shows. His expertise was put to excellent use in White Rainbow. He was in charge of the overall budget of the film.

 

SCORING PRODUCER - MICHAEL MASON

During his nearly 20 years in film and television,

Michael Mason has engineered or co-produced the scores for some of Hollywood's most popular films and TV series. His recent filmography includes, Bruce Almighty, Spy Kids and Spy Kids 2, Princess Diaries and The Scorpion King.  Mr. Mason's television credits include such award winning series as The West Wing and Providence. Mr. Mason will produce

White Rainbow's original score.

 

ORIGINAL SCORE - MARC BONILLA

White Rainbow’s original score is written and performed by Marc Bonilla, whose filmography includes The Replacements, Falling Down, ER and West Wing.

White Rainbow opens with Priya’s Song, a poignant guitar piece that resurfaces throughout the film as a subtle reminder of the tragedy surrounding the beautiful protagonist. Marc’s music that fused East Asian instruments and melodies with today’s soulful rhythms and voice. The music needed to hold true to the film’s location of the ancient city of Vrindavan - the birthplace of Krishna - while anchoring the action in the present and producing a truly enlightened soundtrack.

 

1st A. D. -  SANTHANA BHARATHI

After graduating with a B.A, Mr. Bharathi started his versatile career as a Director, Actor  Writer and Producer. He started as an Assistant to veteran Director C.V. Sridhar for 5 years. In 1980, he directed his first feature film Panneer Pushpangal. He has since directed over 25 films and in 1994 won the National Award for the film Mahanadi.  He co-wrote the screenplay for films Raja Parvai, Vikram and Hey Ram!” with actor and friend Kamalhasan.  Mr. Bharathi has also produced and directed a television series Vayadhu Pathinelu and frequently appears in films and on television.

 

EDITOR -  B. LENIN

Lenin started his career in 1966 as an assistant director and editor for his illustrious father Bhimsingh. He also worked as a lab technician at AVM studios’ B&W lab and as an assistant sound engineer to Mangesh Desai, Bombay. As an Editor, Lenin has worked on over 200 films in five Indian languages and one in English. He is the recipient of the prestigious Indian National Award for Best Editor in the feature film category and has also bagged various state awards. His second short film “CULPRIT” gave him the National Award for Editing. He completed a film “MOTTUKKA” in digital format for Shekhar Kapoor’s (Bandit Queen, Elizabeth, Four Feathers) company Digital Talkies. He is currently producing and directing short films and documentaries under the banner BUDDHA FILMS.

PRODUCTION DESIGN - N. PRABHAHARAN

Prabhaharan, a graduate of the prestigious College of Arts and Crafts (Chennai), is an award winning art director and production designer. He is known for his extremely true to life sets. A winner of numerous awards, Prabha recreated entire streets and ashrams of Vrindavan for the film.

 

HINDI TRANSLATION  -  AMITABH SRIVASTAV

A post graduate from National School of Drama, Amitabh has been involved in the world of theatre for over 25 years. He has worked with some of the great theatre directors like E. ALKAZI, B.V. KARANTH, FRITZ BENEWITZ (GERMANY), BARRY JOHN, RANJIT KAPOOR, AMAL ALLANA & D.R. ANKUR. Apart from being a writer and director, he is also a talented actor and has acted in over 75 plays. Amitabh, or Bobby as he is better  known, is the Founder Member of Delhi’s prestigious theatre group SAMBHAV.
